Why sholva.org?
I'm a huge fan of Stargate, as well of Stargate SG-1 as of Stargate Atlantis.
However, I do like Stargate SG-1 the most.
And that has of course something to do with Richard Dean Anderson.
If you don't know him from Stargate, then you should certainly know him as MacGyver.
Anyway, why sholva.org was the question.
Well, it all starts with Teal'c, a member of the SG-1 team.
Teal'c was the former first prime of the god Apophis.
After he betrayed his god, he was reffered to as the Sholva.
Sholva was originally written as Shol'va. And it means 'Traitor'.
And because Sholva is my nickname since years, sholva.org was a logical name for my website.
More about this website
Sholva.org is validated with the W3C Markup validator as valid HTML 4.01 Strict.
This website is also made with Nanoc, a system developed by a friend of me.
Nanoc is a CMS written in Ruby. It operates on local files, and therefore does not run on the server. Nanoc “compiles” the local source (Markdown, eRuby, etc) files into HTML (or XML, etc); the static output can then be uploaded to any web server.
That's how Nanoc is described by its developer Denis Defreyne.
