Stargate
Stargate SG-1
So now you know that Stargate SG-1 counts ten seasons, I'm going to give you the highlights in each of those seasons.
Watch out! Spoilers over here!
Season 1
In the first episodes of this first season the elite team SG-1 is formed.
When powerful aliens come through Earth's stargate,
Colonel Jack O'Neill - who also lead the first expedition - returns to Abydos to retrieve the archaeologist Daniel Jackson.
Daniel has discovered that the stargate is not just a transit between Earth and Abydos, but instead to lots of other planets.
Daniel also tells Stargate Command that Ra - who they had defeated - wasn't the only powerful Goa'uld.
Back at Earth, Captain Samantha Carter joins the Stargate Program.
A team is assembled to go to Chulak, the Jaffa homeworld.
The Jaffa are the well-skilled warriors who fight for the Goa'uld.
They worship the Goa'uld because they believe them to be true gods.
The Jaffa also carry a symbiont, a Goa'uld larva.
When that larva is full-grown, a human host must be found.
So in fact the Goa'uld are nothing more than parasites who need a human host to survive.
At Chulak they are captured and when they are about to be killed,
the first prime Teal'c of the Goa'uld Apophis betrays his god to help Earth's team.
He joins the team back to Earth, and so SG-1 was found!
The team now consists of Colonel O'Neill, Captain Carter, Dr. Jackson and Teal'c.
They encounter several races. Some of them less advanced, other more.
For instance the Nox, who can make themself and other objects invisible.
They can even heal wounded or death people.
SG-1 does also come in contact with some Asgard technology.
The Asgard are a very powerful race as you will notice during the following seasons.
In a sarcophagus on Earth, the banished Goa'uld Hathor was also found.
She almost takes over the SGC, but luckily Captain Carter and some other female personel could prevail that.
However, she did escape through the gate to an unknwon destination.
At the end of this first season, the Pentagon wants to shutdown the Stargate Program because it's too expensive.
They succeed but SG-1 escapes through the stargate to a Goa'uld storage facility.
At least they believe it is a storage facility...
Season 2
SG-1 finds out that it's aboard of a Goa'uld Hatak vessel that is heading to their own planet: Earth.
The Goa'uld Apophis wants to attack and enslave our entire planet.
With some help of Teal'c his master Bra'tac, SG-1 is able to destroy the shield that was protecting both vessels.
They did also plant some C4 charges on strategic places.
And just when the charges were about to explode, SG-1 escaped using Death Gliders (sort of fighters).
So SG-1 saved the entire planet before the general population even noticed something.
Afterwards the Pentagon was quickly convinced that Stargate Command was worth the budget.
Like the previous season, SG-1 undergoes several adventures:
they accidently travel back in time, they encounter technology to change the weather,
Stargate Command gets overrun by invisible aliens, etc.
They also encounter the Tok'ra which are in fact Goa'ulds, but they respect their host.
The Goa'uld symbiont lives peaceful together with the human host.
Because the leader of the Tok'ra was dying from elderness, he needed a new body.
Captain Carters father Jacob - who was suffering from cancer - was the perfect person.
That's because a Goa'uld symbiont could cure any human disease.
So Jacob was the start of a new alliance between the two races.
And it gets even better. O'Neill becomes the unwilling receptacle for a library of alien knowledge.
With that knowledge he's able to create a device to contact the Asgard (an eight chevron was needed).
They told O'Neill that they've been studying our race for a very long time and that we have great potential.
This second season concludes with SG-1 awakening from stasis in the SGC, but almost 80 years in the future.
But again, there are some strange things going on...
Season 3
SG-1 without Teal'c discovers that the entire story of being 80 years in the future was a set-up.
In fact, they're now prisoners of Hathor.
Teal'c - who wasn't captured - tries to raise a Jaffa army on Chulak.
And with the help of General Hammond, they managed to free Colonel O'Neill, Captain Carter and Dr. Jackson.
SG-1 also discovers a military camp where young men are trained to impersonate SGC personnel to infiltrate Earth.
They told'em that their System Lord Apophis was killed and therefore they could live in freedom.
But apparently, the same Apophis wasn't dead at all...
Because Carter's father Jacob - now leader of the Tok'ra - was taken captive by another powerful System Lord Sokhar,
SG-1 travelled to a hellish prison moon to rescue him.
On that moon they found out that Apophis wasn't dead at all.
In fact, he was able to kill Sokhar and take over his gigantic fleet.
So, what else happened? Some Goa'uld System Lords came to Earth to negotiate a nonagression treaty but it failed,
SG-1 was also taken captive by an alien bounty hunter, the SGC was taken over by metamorphic aliens, etc.
In the previous season, it was also revealed that Earth's second stargate was misused by a rogue group.
Well in this season, this group was captured thanks to a set-up by the SGC and the Asgard.
This season has a great finale. Just when O'Neill is about to go fishing, he is beamed aboard an Asgard vessel.
Thor - the supreme commander of the Agard fleet - tells O'Neill that the ship is taken over by an enemy worse than the Goa'uld.
They are called the Replicators, because that is what they do. They replicate and therefore consume raw materials.
The Replicator's goal was to land Thor's vessel on Earth to continue their replication.
So O'Neill beamed the rest of SG-1 aboard together with lots of gunpower and ammunition.
Together they managed to destroy a crucial part of the ship. So the ship crashed in the Pacific Ocean.
But how did SG-1 and Thor got off the ship?
Well, they just beamed the SGC's stargate aboard and escaped to another planet.
The SGC installed the second gate found below the ice in Antartica during the first season.
So that's it? No... This last episode ends with a replicator that is floating on the water and that isn't dead at all.
Season 4
This sole Replicator survivor was in fact some kind of a queen.
She infiltrated a Russian submarine and started consuming raw materials, producing so new Replicators.
While O'Neill and Teal'c were risking their lives to keep these bugs from gaining a foothold on Earth,
Carter on the other hand was helping the Asgard to prevent a Replicator invasion on the Asgard homeworld.
They both succeed and the Replicators were pushed back.
SG-1 also tested new Tok'ra technology.
This technology offered them superhuman powers, but once through the stargate it was like 'byebye' powers.
Luckily there were no long-term effects.
O'Neill and Teal'c were also caught in a time loop, reliving the same 10 hours over and over again.
But this offered some possibilities like playing golf through the stargate...
The Russians recovered the stargate from the bottom of the ocean (after the Replicator attack),
and turn to the SGC for help when their experiments go wrong. As always, SG-1 solved the problem
This season was really awesome, so it's not easy to choose a few highlights, but I'll try.
The testflight of a modified Death Glider (from the Goa'uld attack in the first season) went wrong,
because the Goa'uld boobytrap all gliders to make modifying impossible.
They also prevented an alliance between Apophis and Heru'ur, two powerful system lords.
There was also an episode of the future where SG-1 sended a message to the present SG-1 to prevent the extinction of the human race.
This fourth season concludes with SG-1 that was helping to evacuate the Tok'ra to a new base.
But after a spy revealed their location to Apophis, things became rather complicated.
How do you solve this kind of problems? SG-1 planned to take out Apophis his powerful fleet. That's it.
Pretty hard you think? Well they've just launched a stargate to the sun of the solar system.
Of course, we're talking about the solar system where the Tok'ra planet was located.
Because the stargate is made of the very unstable material 'naquadah',
the sun would explode and the entire solar system would be wiped out.
That was the plan. But as you all know, Carter is very smart, so her timing was perfect and the plan succeeded.
Happy end you think?
